While rumors about a new Kindle Fire were grabbing significant attention in the blogosphere, a fresh surge of rumor indicates that Amazon has some big thing in store for us! While most of us though it would be two models of Kindle Fire that will be launched this year, an analyst claimed on Thursday that the company will launch at least three models of Kindle Fire. And, the number can even be four, he further indicates.
According to Richard Shim, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch, who got his intel from sources in the "supply chain," Amazon will unleash at least three new models of Kindle Fire this year. And 10-inch Fire will not be coming anytime soon, Shim forecasts rejecting earlier claims made by various reports.

Shim's visit to Amazon's supply chain shows Amazon is prepping an Amazon Kindle Fire 2 for August production with a 7 inch display and resolution of 1024 x 600 but will not sport any camera. The second 7 inch Amazon Kindle Fire 2 will have a better resolution of 1280 x 800, a camera and is slated for August production. A third Amazon Kindle Fire 2 with a 7 inch screen will sport the same features but will also add 4G connectivity. The third Fire is set for September production. While 10-inch is not in the cards, Amazon will produce a Fire with larger 8.9 inch screen that will have resolution of 1920 x 1280 and will enter production process in the fourth quarter.
Like Google's Nexus 7, which was released just a week back to give direct competition to the original Kindle Fire, the new Kindle Fires will also have 216 pixels per inch (PPI), Shim says.
Shim also adds that the production status can change from month to month. "These are supply chain indications. This is what we are seeing right now," he said.
While no information was available from DisplaySearch on pricing or processors, the next Fire models are expected to sport either Texas Instruments OMAP processors or Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 3 chip.
